Torteval Methodist Church community were planning to move to the Parish Church building, which would leave their premises unoccupied. CCD were approached to develop a proposal to convert the former chapel and hall into apartments. Planning approval was gained for a total of eight apartments – two with three bedrooms, two with two bedrooms, and four one-bedroom units.
The premises were purchased by a well-established developer who employed CCD to obtain the necessary permissions, and has brought the premises back into use. The apartments are light and well-proportioned with parking and access to a shared garden as well as individual external storage. Situated at the heart of the rural community in Torteval, the apartments provide accommodation that is in high demand. The form and massing of the buildings has been retained, and re-purposing them has given them a new lease of life, with the experienced touch from the developer providing beautiful contemporary homes.
