Sousique is a much-loved home, but the family needed more space. CCD worked with the owners to design an extension that wraps around two sides of the bungalow and increases the reception, bedroom and ancillary space. The design was developed with future proofing in mind, so the house could be split in two for semi-independent living and incorporates accessibility features.
Our clients’ interest in natural finishes, their garden and greenhouse led to the use of an oak frame giving character to the reception rooms which connect to the garden.
Sousique, which is typical of so many bungalows in Guernsey, has been hugely enhanced, providing attractive, light reception spaces balanced by the bedroom accommodation which is located in a separate part of the home to provide a hierarchy of public and private spaces.
Construction work was carried out by F. Watson & Son who worked closely with us and the owners. The end result – a very happy client!
